Whew! Sorry for the long absence on here! Its been a crazy month for us, as we've had lots of decisions to make and some sick family members. I promise I've been working on quite a few new, fun projects, and hopefully later this week I'll be able to let you in on some exciting news. In the meantime, I'll catch you up on why the long, long space between posts.
First off, we've been house hunting. It's quite obvious that we've outgrown our little starter home. When we built it four and a half years ago, we only had two little guys who were ages 3 and 1 and we felt that the house would fit us for quite some time.

Our two other little guys soon joined our family and we have now found ourselves squishing the four boys into two small bedrooms. I told my husband that we either had to finish our basement (once its done we will have a 5 bedroom, 3 bath home) or we had to move on. We love our neighborhood, and our subdivision recently opened a new phase for development, so we decided to look into building there. Prices have rebounded in our area, and after meeting with two different relators, we found that we had a nice chunk of equity built up in our house. After walking through several model homes, we were sure that it would be better for us to sell our house, use the equity to get out of debt, and build a bigger home. However, after lots of thought and prayer, we both felt strongly like we needed to stay where we are. Ugh. I felt super disappointed, but knew it was the right thing to do.
So where is this all going? Well, since we are staying, I am insisting that the basement is finished. So in the near future there will be a lot more home improvement/DIY projects as I share our journey with you. Also, my husband decided to remodel our Master bathroom. Excuse the terrible phone photos. And the mess. Especially the mess.
In our Master Bedroom there were these two doors, one to our closet, and one to the bathroom. It drove my husband crazy and he decided to knock down the wall in between and make it an open concept bathroom. We really liked the open concept bathrooms we saw in the model homes and thought we'd bring that update into our home. I'll let you know how it goes...
Oh, and do you remember that
Bedroom Restyle: Part One that I shared with you last year? Well, I'm getting ready to show you Part Two of that. Here's a sneak peak (again in phone photos)…
Oh, and I've got a few new sewing projects I'm working on too. Have you snagged some of Bonnie and Camille's new April Showers line? If you haven't you'd better act quick because its selling like crazy and my local quilt shop told me they aren't able to order any more so when its gone, its gone.
Also, I'm hoping to finally get my
Puddle Jumping quilt done this week. These blocks go together so easily and they are very addicting. True story.
Are you still here after that long post? Go you! I'll be back in a few days to share that other big thing I've been working on. See ya then!
